At approx. 0136 hrs. Chalfont Fire Company was dispatched to the 400 block of W. Butler Ave., Spatola’s Pizza, for a reported building fire. Police arrived on scene and reported heavy fire through the roof. Battalion 74 (Marino) arrived shortly after and confirmed the report and set up Chalfont . Ladder 74 (C. Guinan) was first on scene and set up for aerial operations. Engine 34 (BC Bintner) arrived and laid in from a nearby hydrant and went in service with three hand lines on each side of the building. Colmar Ladder 12 provided aerial operations on the delta side of the building. Doylestown Rescue 19 operated as a Rapid Intervention Team in case an emergency were to occur. The fire was placed under control at approx. 0209 hrs by Battalion 74.
Rescue 34, Engine 54, TAC 74, Hilltown Engine 60 and Montgomery Squad 18 also responded.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated by the New Britain and Bucks County’s Fire Marshall’s offices.
